Share a recipe from Instagram

On an Instagram recipe reel, tap Share and choose Recipes We Share. The recipe in the caption becomes an editable recipe in your cookbook.

How it works

  • Share an Instagram reel to Recipes We Share and the recipe in its caption becomes ingredients and steps you can edit.
  • The saved recipe links back to the reel.
  • Imported, pasted and AI-built recipes start in your personal recipes; one tap adds them to the family cookbook.

Step by step

    Found it on Instagram

    On Instagram, open the recipe video you want to keep.

    Tap Instagram's Share button.

    In the share options, choose Recipes We Share.

    Reading the recipe

    Recipes We Share opens with the link and starts reading the recipe.

    Review the draft

    The recipe opens as a draft. Check the title, ingredients and steps, and change anything you like.

    Pick a category

    Choose a category (here, Desserts).

    Scroll down to the ingredients. Each one is split into amount, unit and name.

    Keep scrolling to the numbered steps.

    Tap Create Recipe.

    The recipe is saved to your personal recipes first.

    Tap Add to Family Cookbook so the whole family can see it.
